Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Chat Exporter: Chat to PDF (“the app”) does with your information. It is written to be read, not to be survived. The short version: the app does not collect your data, and your chats never leave your device.

1. Who we are

Chat Exporter is developed and published by Solo Dev Labs. For any privacy question, correction or request, contact guptaaryan583@gmail.com.

2. Information the app collects

None. The app does not collect, store, transmit or sell personal information. Specifically:

• There is no sign-up, login, or user account.
• We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or contacts.
• We do not operate a server that receives your data.
• We do not include advertising networks or third-party analytics libraries.
• We do not create a profile of you or track you across apps or websites.

3. How your chats are handled

When you open an exported chat file (a .txt or .zip produced by your messaging app), the app reads that file locally using the file you explicitly selected. It parses the messages, formats them, and writes a PDF to your device’s storage.

Your chat content, the messages inside it, any photos included in the export, and the PDF that is produced all remain on your device. They are never uploaded, backed up to us, or shared with any third party by the app. If you subsequently email, print or upload the PDF yourself, that is your action and is governed by whatever service you choose to use.

4. Permissions the app requests

• File access — used only to read the chat file you pick and to save the PDF you asked for. The app uses the Android document picker, so it receives access to the specific file you choose rather than to your whole storage.
• Internet — the app functions fully offline. Network access is used only for the Google Play billing check when you purchase or restore the Pro unlock.

5. Purchases

The optional one-time Pro unlock is sold through Google Play Billing. Your payment is processed entirely by Google. We never see your card details, billing address or any payment information. Google provides us with anonymous, aggregated sales figures — for example, how many purchases were made in a country in a month — which cannot identify you.

Google’s handling of that transaction is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Information Google Play collects independently

Google Play collects certain information about app installs, crashes and usage as part of operating the store, independently of the app itself. We can see this only as anonymous aggregated statistics in the Google Play Console — such as install counts, country totals, ratings and crash reports. None of it identifies individual users to us, and none of it contains your chat content.

7. Children

The app is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Data retention and deletion

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Files created by the app live on your device only, and you can delete them at any time using your file manager or by uninstalling the app.

If you believe we hold information about you and would like it removed, email guptaaryan583@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (Europe), the UK GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA (California) or India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act — including rights of access, correction, deletion and portability. Since the app collects no personal data, there is generally nothing to access or erase, but you are welcome to contact us to confirm this in writing.

We do not sell or share personal information, because we do not collect any.

10. Security

Keeping data on the device is the security model. There is no transmission to intercept and no database of ours to breach. Files the app writes are stored using your device’s normal storage protections, so the security of the resulting PDF depends on the security of your phone and of wherever you choose to send it.

11. Changes to this policy

If the app’s behaviour ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes on Google Play.
